The sudden disappearance of Ras alerted JD to the fact that all was not exactly right. Throwing down enough galleons to cover his and Ras' drinks, as well as telling the bartender to keep the change, he was out the door and looking for the blond. Had he messed up? Had he done something wrong? Was it the comment? His age? Jordan? Was she just really drunk? None of the questions really had answers as JD didn't really have the materials to answer them. And he needed to find the only person who could.
It took a few moments of searching to find the familiar blond and even then he wasn't sure if he wanted to approach her. She seemed really upset. Granted it was probably his fault and if it was he really did need to go and apologize. Just go and apologize. Tell her she never has to see you again. That you were out of line. Apologize even if you didn't do anything wrong! Walking in front of Ras, he kneeled in front of her and held out his hand.
"Whatever happened. I'm sorry. I just..." he smiled sheepishly, "I just really like you. And I haven't really had any romantic feelings for anyone since Jordan's mom. So this is all kind of new to me. I'm sorry if I did anything wrong. I didn't mean to. And I understand if you don't ever want to see me again."

"I-it's not that, Johnny, I just haven't liked anyone since school." And she hadn't been with anyone since school. "You did nothing wrong." Ras took his hand before placing her other hand on his cheek. "I do like you, Johnny, but I just feel so confused about it." She didn't know why she did but she was very confused. She didn't know why she wasn't disturbed by the fact that he was a father.
"Anyway... tell me about your daughter." Merlin, let her be just eleven! She smiled at him before patting the bench next to her. She didn't feel like going back inside the pub, not after the scene she made. She wanted to make eye contact but she rarely did that, actually the only time she did was when she was speaking to Sirius about who her father was.
Pushing those thought to the back of her mind she looked at her lap as she tried to figure out why she didn't make eye contact with anyone. She wondered if it was something she got from one of her parents. She would never know though, she took a deep breath and forced herself to look into his eyes and for the first time she noticed how his eyes were a stormy grey. "I like your eyes... I could get lost in them."

"Thanks," he chuckled, taking a seat next to her on the bench, "Normally I wear glasses." He wasn't sure how he could answer about Jordan. But she had asked, and if he wanted to pursue a relationship with her, JD knew he had to be honest.
"Well, she's 14 and in Slytherin. And she's just...she's my world. I don't know what I would do without her. She's this fun, sweet, amazing girl who's just full of all this life. It surprises me that she turned out so exuberant giving neither me or her mother really are. Baby Girl's kind of a trouble maker though. I keep hearing about her lately from other staff. But we've got a system. She's a teenager so I know she's just at the age where she's trying to figure out who she is and what she wants to be. So I really don't have much stock in the craziness continuing," he explained, smiling widely at the though of my daughter, "She's a beautiful girl too. Bright blond mass of hair and these big blue eyes, that I wish she would stop lining like she was a racoon. Sorry...I kinda...she's my kid and really the only person I've got so I kinda went on a rampage there. I'm sorry."

Ras smiled as she listened to him talk about his daughter. She giggled at how he was rambling on about her. "Most girls go through that stage, I didn't but some girls in my house did. They wore so much makeup that they looked like a gothic clown." She laughed as she remembered those girls, Pansy though always wore her makeup perfectly.
"It might be because she has no mother, I know that I wouldn't know how to put on makeup if it wasn't for my mum." She smiled as she put her hand on his cheek, she leaned forward then kissed his other cheek. "I'm sorry for running out on you." The last guy she had been with hadn't been the nicest one. She removed her hand to her lap as she looked around.
She looked down hating the silence, she wasn't good with silence. She was use to hearing cows moo and the rooster crow, not the quiet mullings of people talking. She was lost in thought of what she could say without bringing up her past relationships. She bit her lower lip as she listened to people talking, when she heard someone talk of flying she got an idea. "Does she play on the team? I never did but always envied those that did."

"She does have a mum. Just not one that she gets along well with. Her mother is very...very 50's muggle is the way to describe it, I guess," he chuckled at the thought, "She's found a mum for herself though. Gwen Lawrence, the potions master. I swear, Gwen sees more of Jordan than I do sometimes."
When Ras apologized for running out on him, JD simply smiled and gave her hand a light squeeze. There was no point in talking about something from the past that had no application in the present conversation. It had happened and it had been dealt with. No harm. No foul. And so it just needed to be left alone.
"She does. I bet if you asked she'd teach you how to play. Jordan's got a way with Quidditch. It comes very naturally to her. And she's so small and compact, so they made her a Seeker. She's a natural. It reminds me of Harry almost. Though I'd never tell her that," JD grinned widely and looked over at Ras, "You should meet her. I'm sure you two would get along great. She's very...exuberant is the best word here."

Ras laughed at the image of a '50's muggle, she had seen those on the television. "No wonder she is that way." She grinned to show she was joking. "I had forgot Snape doesn't teach Potions anymore." She thought about the meeting she had with him, "I'm thinking about becoming a professor myself." She looked at her lap, she was unsure though.
"Oh, no, I am not a flyer." She shook her head, the closest she came to flying was the toy broom she had that her brother bought her when she was about nine. "I wouldn't tell her that, if she is like most Slytherins then she hates any and all Gryffindors. But I am not like most Slytherins, my newly found uncle is a Gryffindor and my brother is a Gryffindor, or rather they are former Gryffindors." She stopped talking as she realized she was the one rambling that time.
She looked at him and smiled, "You might be rubbing off on me already, Johnny." She rested her head on his shoulder. "Do you think I should get a job being a professor, Snape thinks so but I haven't had the nerve to talk to Dumbledore about it."

"I think you could pull it off. I mean, it really depends on how much stress you can handle and how much sleep you like to get? The answer to those should be; a lot and enough to survive, just by the way," he couldn't help but laugh, and he wrapped an rm around the blonde's shoulders, "But as long as you're interested in whatever subject you choose I'm sure you'd do fine. Hey! I'll even put in a good word for." He was nineteen again. That was the only option giving the way that he was talking to Ras and acting towards her. And he found his actions filled him with a strange sort of happiness. One that he would keep bottled up deep inside in order to not seem too creepy.
"Jordan's not Slytherin-like in the pureblood, elitism sense. She has a strange set of morals. She's very sly and clever. And she'd a trouble maker. She tries to be a neutral party. It's hard for her to be that way in the house she was placed in. Especially since she's tangled in her own little house war," JD chuckled, and cringed inwardly slightly, at the though of Jordan's Ravenclaw-Slytherin-Slytherin love triangle of way to much stress but he didn't let the smile fall from his face, "I'm sure you'd like her. My worry is more in her liking you. But to be fair that's mostly a dad complex." [/blockquote]

"Before I meet her can we take this slow?" Ras didn't want to rush into a relationship with someone that might end up being her co-worker. She looked at him almost begging him with her eyes to take it slow. She leaned toward him and kissed his cheek. She hoped he wouldn't hate her for wanting to take it slow. She looked down at her lap and wondered if he would even want to take it slow or if he wanted to go fast. She couldn’t go fast with a guy she barely knew, and he was a father of a teenager.
“I just don’t want to rush things, alright?” She did like Johnny she just thought that if they went too fast that they might end up regretting it later on. She looked at him and couldn’t help but smile at him. Even though they had just met she already liked him. “Can we start out as friends? Please? Because I think it’s a little soon to say we are a couple.” She hoped he would agree with her as she knew how jumping into a relationship was like.
She sat in silence as she waited for him to answer her questions, she knew it might take some time as she had asked three almost at once.
