Time Changed Me, But I Can't Change Time [Rasalas]

It was a day like any other. He was still training to be an Auror, but at the same time, trying to mend broken relationships with his fellow Slytherins. There were few who didn't really care anymore about what he did, and some were angry at him, saying it was his fault Voldemort lost. But he knew it wouldn't be easy. He felt it was worth it though.

He was still a Malfoy, and upheld some of his father's beliefs. Draco just wasn't a crazy lunatic who wanted to kill all the muggles and enslaved everyone not pure blooded. And he's tried to stop it against the mud-bloods, since they were just as magical as he, but of course he was better. What other wizard would betray all his friends and family to spare a man on the enemy's side? What other wizard could have done all he did? Well a good majority of wizards and witches could.

On this particular day, Draco was walking down Diagon Alley, after filling a bag full of money, mostly for food and items such as that, Draco spotted a familiar sign. It was a blast from the past. Knockturn Alley the painted sign read, pointing to a small area next to a shop. Draco headed down the stairs leading to the darkened alley, tucking his money safely away in his black dress pants (which his mother got him for his birthday the year before, and they were very stylish to him), knowing that one could get robbed easily in this place.

Holding his cane, (previously his father's which held Draco's wand now, snake head and all,to his side, Draco slowly made his way down the alley, looking from shop to shop, some bringing up painful memories, but on the other hand some had brought back great memories. He remembered when he bought his hand of glory as he passed Borgin and Burkes, conveniently forgetting the bad memories associated with the hand, but remembering a few good times, when he would use some instant darkness powder and hold it, and run away from his father. It was fantastic.

He felt like a little kid for a second, before pushing himself back into the now, but still standing in front of Borgin and Burkes. Help Wanted a sign read, and for a second Draco was tempted, but remembered he already had a job, and an amazing one at that. With his money he could probably buy the store, but the place didn't make much, and it might hurt his image owning a Dark Magic store. That said, Draco sighed and walked down the alley once more.

What am I doing here? Rasalas asked herself as she walked down Knockturn Alley, she had never been down that alley before and she didn't know why she was there now. She held her wand in her pocket as she passed some strange witches and wizards. She had always been curious about Knockturn Alley so when she was in Diagon Alley and saw the sign she couldn't help but go down the alley. Now she was second guessing her thoughts, she was beginning to regret going down the alley. Why did I do this? She looked around as she wondered how far she had gone into the alley.

She took a deep breath as she stopped then took a few steps back and bumped into someone. She jumped, turned around all the while taking her wand out. She was panicking as she was a tad jumpy, she looked the person over and when she saw it was a familiar face she put her wand away. “It's been a while.” She had a crush on him in school but never had the nerve to tell him. Seeing him after all this time brought some of those old feelings back. Stay calm. She smiled at the man, “I'm glad it's you and not some mad person.” She laughed nervously.

Draco was focusing putting one foot in front of the other, trying not to pay attention to a few shady people he knew, who didn't like him in particular. Draco smiled at a weird looking man, who had smiled at Draco before. At least he wasn't hated by all of the people like him.

Draco didn't particularly like Dark Arts, kind of sorta, but not really. Truthfully the only reason he used the Dark Arts was to protect his family, and when it came down to using the darkest he strayed away from it.

Suddenly someone knocked into him, so he lost his train of thought, but he quickly reacted by pulling his wand out of his father's cane, or staff... whatever one would call it. He turned on the spot, catching himself from falling down, and pointed his wand at the person who bumped into him.

Upon recognizing his assailant, Draco slowly stowed away his wand. Rasalas was a Slytherin, whom he thought was a year under him, or something like that, he wasn't sure. But really she was one of the few Slytherins who he actually kind of still liked, her striking him as an Order aligned person, or neutral. That was a big plus.

"Indeed it has," Draco replied nodding slightly, then chuckling slightly, "I'm glad that it's you and not some mad person... wait... that's a bit paradoxical."

"Paradoxical? Anyway what I meant was I rather run into you then into one of the other people here." She hugged herself as she looked around, "So... how have you been?" She was younger then him but she had been in the same year as him. She was feeling a bit jumpy and nervous as she had never been down the alley. She had heard that Draco had joined the Order and she thought that was a good thing.

She knew that it had to have been hard on him to turn his back on the Death Eaters. "I really don't know why I'm down here." She took a deep breath to calm her nerves she wished she had Angel with her. She would feel safer with her dog but she felt somewhat safe since she ran into an old schoolmate that she knew was good. She looked at Draco and thought he was still as handsome as ever. She pushed those thoughts to the back of her mind since for all she knew he could be with someone. She jumped when a cat hissed nearby, she really wished she had never went down that alley. She wondered why Draco was there but she wouldn't ask as he might get offended by it.

"Heh, that's true," Draco remarked, "There are a lot of unpleasant people here. I've been pretty well, how abou you?" Kind of like him as a kid. At least that was the past and it had to happen to get him to where he was today. He had been taking care of his mother, not really with any real help. At least he was able to get a job at the ministry, so he wasn't trapped in the house with nothing to do. Now he was pretty busy, with Quidditch and training To be an Auror, in an hour he would have practice.

Rasalas wasn't a bad person and was pro Order Draco was sure, so he could trust her at least a bit, and he knew he a little in school. Plus she was pretty cool. Draco had a hard time trusting anyone since he had been in his house most of the past 2 years, only coming out for Quidditch, but not really hanging out with friend or anything, though overall he was pretty nice to most even Pansy and Goyle, who hate him, and backstabbed him, he still tried.

"Curiousity perhaps?" Draco suggested smiling, "I'm just here to explore, remember times from long ago. Stuff about father and such. Remember how idiotic I was when I was younger.". He softly chuckled at the comment about himself, thinking that it was true. But with age maturity comes as well as other things. Draco looked around for a second and then back at Rasalas. She was really cool, and well, Definately not bad looking.
