As you may now be able to tell, we have an interesting history designed for the site, and not all of the finer points are up yet. But what are some of the important ones? How are some of these characters alive? Allow me to introduce you to some background/frequently asked questions.
So how is it that Harry ends up with Hermione while Ron's with Luna and Neville's dating Ginny?
But what about these deaths? And some people living who were supposed to have died?
So how is it that Harry ends up with Hermione while Ron's with Luna and Neville's dating Ginny?
Personally, I've always wanted to see H & H. So, history wise, the story differs after the fifth and sixth books. Speed things up a bit, and Harry and Ginny date their fifth year while Hermione and Ron continue their sort-of fling. Neville and Luna are tagging along with the four, so they make a nice group of six. However, Harry realizes it's too dangerous for him to really love someone, so he and Ginny break up. She's not happy, but she understands. Hermione and Ron, realizing that they fight too much and don't want to risk messing everything up with the six of them, choose to remain single. In their sixth year, Ginny and Neville take a liking to each other. They actually are the first to begin dating, and realize they're surprisingly compatible. Meanwhile, Luna's taken a liking to Ron, who finds her refreshing as compared to Lavender. Putting his feelings for Hermione in the "friend" category, he confides in Harry that he finds Luna interesting and wants to date her, so Harry agrees that they would be a nice couple. Over the summer, they all spend a lot of time at Ron's house, since Luna lives not too far away, and Neville visits often. The only two not dating are Hermione and Harry, mostly because he thinks dating would be too dangerous. Hermione has now realized her feelings for Harry, as has he, but they keep things mostly platonic, despite the dating of their four closest friends. This continues until shortly before the two last battles, when they admit that they do, indeed love each other. After the battle, the couples remain together, but Hermione runs off to Australia, so Harry is technically single but holding out for her return.
But what about these deaths? And some people living who were supposed to have died?
Well, let's explain some of them, and leave the rest to mystery. I'll begin with Albus Dumbledore. You might recall in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince that Albus puts on that ring. Let's say he doesn't. And remember how he gives Draco a chance to change his mind about killing him? Well, let's say that Draco takes it. Draco chooses not to kill Albus for his and his mother's safety. Therefore, Albus lives. The only consequence of this is that Lucius is killed for his family's disloyalty. Slightly unfortunate, eh?
