As she slowly woke up – it seemed neither her insomnia nor the voices in her head had troubled her during the night – the redhead noted that she wasn’t in her bed. Nor, now that she thought of it, was she in her pajamas, either. Blinking the sleep from her eyes, she looked around. Great, she’d fallen asleep in the Common Room again, doing homework t all hours no doubt… Also noting that a weight was resting upon her side and some of her lap, she looked down. Of course, the weight wasn’t uncomfortable, which led her to smile slightly. She was greeted by hair of spun gold, and a face usually as icy as her own, though serene in sleep. It seemed she and Lux had fallen asleep together, after doing their homework.
Gently shaking her best friend – one of, at least – Sam called softly; not wanting to make too much noise at what her body told her was 6:30AM. ”Hey, Luxie, wake up. We fell asleep together again…” She laughed softly, wondering how Lux would react this time. Well, at least Daciana wasn’t with them this time… The last time the three had fallen asleep together after doing homework all night, their position upon waking had been… Awkward at best.
Smiling at the memory, the redhead waited for her blonde best friend – again, only one of her blonde best friends, as she had a few - to wake and get up so they could both grab a shower and changed into afresh uniform before breakfast and classes.

Lux groaned as her eyes fluttered open, she slowly rose her head and looked at Sam. She was glad it was just Sam and not her and her girlfriend. She didn't know why but she felt a tinge of jealousy at the thought of Sam's girlfriend. She sat up as she pushed that thought to the back of her mind. She wasn't into girls, though she did freak out the last time. She looked down at her lap before glancing at her best friend. Lux didn't know Daciana all that well so she figured that was why she had freaked out.
Though it made her wonder if she liked Sam for more then just a friend, she shook her head. She felt so confused, she looked at Sam with a slight grin. "It seems we always end up cramming at the last minute, eh, Sammy?" Sam was the only one that really called her 'Luxie' she would hex anyone else that tried to.
Sam and Lux had a few things in common besides the anorexic part. Lux bit her lower lip then yawned as she stretched her arms over her head. She stood up then turned to her friend and held out her hand. "We best get ready for breakfast and classes."
(OOC: Hope you don't mind is Lux has a slight crush on Sam... though of course Lux is in denial and is confused about it)

The redhead smiled, lightly and casually pressing a kiss to Lux's cheek. Being the person she was, it took a great deal to be Sam's acquantence even, let alone her friend. As for being close enough for her to se casually show her sister-like (or at times even deeper) affections so clearly... It took far more than most people were even willing to imagine, let alone be willing to attempt.
The fact that she was so open about her deep friendship with the blonde, thus, was indicative of just how much they had been through together. In all honestly, Sam could say that she loved Lux as much as she loved Daciana - just the former in a completely platonic, sisterly manner, while she wished she could openly love the letter in an openly romantic manner. Nodding, as she came back to reality, Sam's smile became a grin. "Aye, it seems we do, Luxie." A mischievous glint shone in her dark eyes, as her slight Irish accent decided to show itself on the 'aye,' as it tended to do when she was still a bit asleep.
Nodding again, the redhead too stood, stretching as well, though back behind her rather than above her head with her arms. "We should, though I suggest we figure out whom should shower first, since I don't think you'd be too comfortable showering with me." She meant the last in a teasing tone, as she cecked over the last of the Advanced Arithmacy work she had been doing before she fell asleep.
((I see Advanced Arithmacy as somewhat like Algebra II... dunno why...-_-))
((Works just fine for me; it just gives us more drama to work with, in the way of a Lux/Sam/Ana triangle.))

═ ═ Lux smiled a little when Sam kissed her on the cheek. She still hadn't had her real first kiss, sometimes she wished it could be with Sam. "I swear I need me an Irish boy, I love when your accent comes out." She leaned over and kissed Sam's cheek, she had to hold herself from kissing the girl's lips.
"You know that's not true." Lux had showered with her even at her father's house over the summers. Though that was before she started getting these confusing feelings about Sam. She looked over her own work, though hers was for Defense. "I swear your dad gives me the hard stuff in his lessons." Her tone was half serious and half joking.
After checking her work she sat her parchment down then looked at her best friend. Sometimes she wondered if she should tell her that she looked much prettier before she stopped eating. She shook her head knowing that Sam wouldn't listen to her, she knew it had something to do with her beliefs. Lux stuck her hand in her pocket to make sure her muggle switch blade was still in there. She had bought it the first chance she had after her rape. "Ready?" She asked as she watched her friend. words: 217 tags: Sam notes: Hope you don’t mind what I said about the summers at Snape’s house

Brushing her hair behind her ear, Sam smiled genuinely at her best friend. It wasn't that her other smiles weren't genuine, rather that this showed a hint of something else - of something deeper - than just friendship for the blonde. She knew it was dangerous to love another woman, but Sam knew she was a lesbian and was completely comfortable with it; she just wondered how Lux would take her growing feelings. Putting the thought from her mind for the moment, the redhead addressed what her best friend/crush had said.
"I know, it just... Seems like things are a bit different here, y'know? Like, we can't be as close as we normally would be..." Trailing off, she reached for Lux's hand, and grinned just a bit flirtatiously. Allowing her accent to slip just a bit more, she continued to speak. "O'course, tha' disnea mean I don't want to shower with you, beautiful." As there had been in her grin, there was a slightly flirtatious quality to her words. In what she said, however, it wasn't quite as noticeable as in her expression.
Sam just wondered how Lux would take to the fact that she had called her beautiful... It could be the making or breaking of any relationship between them, after all.

"We're close now, Sammy." Lux said with a grin, she wanted to kiss her so badly but she couldn't. Sam was her best friend and it might end that friendship if she did kiss her. She almost froze when she called her 'beautiful' Lux blushed as she moved closer to Sam. She bit her lower lip before she put her free hand on her friend's cheek. "You are the best friend anyone could ever hope for." She could feel her own heart racing, "but you don't know what you do to me."
She took the hand Sam had and placed her hand on her own heart so she too could feel it racing. She looked at her, "you are the only one I can confide in, you are the only one that believed me when I told what had happened." She was the only one Lux felt that she could rely on. She smiled at her friend, she loved Sam but she wasn't entirely sure if it was in a sisterly way or more. She only knew how to love as a daughter.
Her breathing became shallow as she moved closer to Sam, she was close to her that she could almost feel her breath on her skin. words:213 tags:Sam notes:Getting a little tense ^^

Almost in reflex, Sam leaned into the touch to her cheek. For once, she wasn't thinking of Daciana when in a situation like this. Brief and wonderful and crazy as that had been, the redhead wasn't truly sure of her feelings for the half-lycan anymore, and so... Locking gazes with Lux, the slightly taller girl allowed her hand to be moved to the blonde's heart. A soft, small smile touched the redhead's lips, as her dark eyes softened. So completely unguarded, so completely vulnerable... Until now, only Daciana had seen this part of Sam in a very long time. Not even her father had seen this side of the pale teen in about four years.
"To be completely correct, Luxie," Sam murmured, as the two gils drew closer together. "I dinna think close quite covers this anymore." She paused for a moment, and then continued speaking. "You make me feel things that set me heart racing, ye know things about me tha' few people living can say they know. You trust me with things that I will keep secret for you until I die; I ken tha' I love ye..." Her accent thickened, as the tension between them increased. And then, as the two drew closer still, Sam took the plunge.
Slipping her free arm about Lux's waist, she closed the gap between them and kissed the blonde softly on the mouth.
Time seemed to stand still, for the few moments the kiss lasted.
Pulling back just enough to speak, she breathed her next words.
"Th' question is, how much dae I luve ye.."

Lux listened to her friend, and as the accent got thicker her stomach flipped. It felt like she had birds in her stomach. As they got closer she knew it would happen sooner or later but it still caught her off guard. Her heart leaped into her throat and her stomach flipped once more but this time felt like butterflies were in it. She kept her eyes open as they kissed, she did like it. She kissed a girl and liked it, she put her hands on Sam’s waist right before the kiss ended.
She looked up at her friend, "how much do you love me, Sammy?" Her heart felt like it was skipping from the kiss. Before she let the girl answer Lux rose up and kissed Sam, she wanted that feeling once again. She never knew what a real kiss was like, a kiss that wasn't forced onto her. She had to stop herself from smiling into the kiss. After a few moments she pulled back and whispered, "I love you, Sammy, I think I always have as long as I've known you." She did love her but she never knew how she had loved her until that first kiss.
She figured that was why she was always jealous of Daciana. She smiled up at Sam as she was slightly taller then Lux. "I'm glad that my first real kiss was with you." words:238 tags:Sam notes:

Admittedly, both times they kissed, Sam felt as if her head had exploded, and fire ignited within her body. It seemed as if the world died and was reshaped every few milliseconds, and it almost seemed as if... As if her soul had touched the Divine, and she longed to have it back, when Lux's lips left her own for the second time. "I'm beginnin' tae believe tha' I love ye with me whole heart... All me mind, soul, and bein'..." Sam breathed, her accent soft and yet still very much there, as she rested her forehead gently against Lux's own.
Closing the gap again, the redhead kissed Lux once more, lingering a bit longer this time. In truth, she doubted she could ever stop kissing her blonde best friend... Or, rather, girlfriend, now. It was more wonderful that she had ever dreamed it would be - ever dreamed it could be. Albeit, she had always assumed it would be with Daciana... And yet, she couldn't feel sad at this fact. She had shared her first kiss with Lux, and wanted to continue sharing kisses, and perhaps more, when the blonde was ready, for the est of time.
"I ken I've already said thes, but I luve ye, tay, me Luxie." She smiled a bit, kissing Lux again softly, and yet still a bit more firmly this time. "I'm glad me first kiss was wi' ye... I ne'er dreamed jist a kiss cood ever make me thes hap'y, me luve." She knew it was cliche and just a bit cheesy, but it was so true her heart almost ached with what she was now coming to realize she felt for the woman she was now holding close to her self (somehow they had shifted to that both of Sam's arms were about the blonde's waist).
"I ne'er want tae lit ye go, I ne'er want tae stop kissin' ye... I dinnae ken wa, but I ken tha' it's true."

Lux smiled after each time Sam spoke, she could tell that what the girl said had came from the heart. Lux felt the same way toward the red head, she just never knew what her feelings were until that kiss. She felt whole for the first time since her dad had died. "Not to ruin this perfect moment but what about Daciana? Aren't you dating her?" She bit her lower lip, each time they had kissed Lux felt like she could touch the moon.
I can't believe my luck is turning around. She smiled when she realized that Sam's arms were around her waist. She looked up at Sam feeling happy, "You make me feel whole, Sammy... I haven't felt that way since before my dad died." Normally she would lose her smile when talking about her dad but nothing could ruin how she was feeling right then.
She rose up a bit and kissed Sam once more to feel that feeling once again. That feeling of time stopping and that happiness that nothing could ruin. Her own hands went up the other girl's back so Lux could hold her closer, though she felt like she might break one of Sam's bones she didn't stop the kiss, she would let the other girl do that. Lux never wanted to stop. words:227 tags:Sam notes:

When air was needed, the skinny redhead pulled back, a good bit reluctantly. She shook her head smiling ruefully, as she worked to reign her accent back in. "No, I was never dating Daciana; we were both far too awkward with our feelings, and eventually... I guess I just moved on," she shrugged, as if to say that the rest was history, and didn't really matter anymore. Leaning forward once more, she pressed a gentle kiss to the tip of Lux's nose, smiling still. "Don't worry, love;she'll never take me from you, I promise." Though her accent was still there slightly, it seemed that the dark-eyed girl had managed to get it under control once more.
Allowing her fingers to gently stroke the blonde's sides, Sam murmured, "I know what you mean... Ever since my mother died, I've felt like there was something missing in my life... I mean, not just a maternal figure, but... Really love in general... I guess I knew my Father loved me, I just... never felt or experienced it. With you..." she blushed a bit, her cheeks echoing her hair in fainter, rose fashion rather than that of blood. "I know that I'm loved, and that... I will always have someone to turn to, no matter what happens. You've had my heart for a long time now, though I guess I never knew it until right this moment."
She hoped her sincerity showed, but the chiming of the antique grandfather clock - 7:00 - had her crashing painfully back to reality. The Chaser sighed a bit. "I think we'd best be taking that shower now... The other girls will be waking up soon, and if we don't do it now we'll never get to use the bathroom." Tomboyish as she was, Sam hated how much time and stock nearly all of the girls in her year and the ones above put into their appearances. Well, that, and if they didn't take their shower now, they would be late for breakfast as well, and quite possibly miss it.
While went without saying that this would have been fine with the redhead, she knew Lux would want breakfast.

"I don't know whether to say I'm sorry or say I'm glad." Lux was glad that she wasn't ever really with the other girl. She realized that she was always jealous when she saw Sam with Daciana. She smiled when she was assured that Daciana wouldn't be able to steal Sam from her. "Now that I know I'm happy about."
Lux thought that Sam looked cute when she blushed so she scrunched up her face to change her hair color to match the color of Sam's blush. "You're cute when you blush, Sammy, I love the color your cheeks turn to."
Lux nodded in agreement, "I know we'll miss breakfast if they stampede in first." She took Sam's hand and lead her to the showers. She was still confused about where she really stood when it came to her sexuality but she knew she loved Sam.
After their shower Lux only applied a small bit of blush to her cheeks and put on lipstick that was a pinkish color. She turned to Sam, "How do I look?" She was wearing her school robes but she was asking about her makeup, she knew Sam was tomboyish but she was still a girl. words:211 tags:Sam notes:That's fine, took a bit for my muse to work anyway. While she may have been a girl, Sam's take on make-up and such was very... minimal, and punk/rock-chick at best. So, when asked about how the blonde looked, the redhead answered with the safest possible, and yet still completely truthful, answer she could think of. "You look beautiful, as always,"[/color] she accompanied her words with a cheeky grin, and hoped that she had saved herself from a tounge lashing this early in the morning.
Once again focusing her attention on what she had been doing, the redhead worked out the knots in her waist-length, choppily cut hair with her fingers. She knew she'd just end up ripping out her hair if she did it with a brush - well, her hair was falling out anyways, but this would prevent massive amounts of that - and so she had to do it by hand. Once she had detanged her hair, she pulled it back into a ponytail, and then stole/borrowed some bobby pins from Lux, which she used to pin up her hair into a rather sloppy bun. Of course, as always, the not-quite-long-enough pieces of her hair slipped from the pins and hung to frame her face.
Done with her own morning preparations, she extended a pale, boney hand to the blonde. "If you're ready, we should go," she murmured, wondering how Lux would take this obvious public show of affection. After all, Sam hadn't even held hands with Daciana, and she'd been smitten with the half-lycan for almost four years before this. The Chaser also staunchly ignored the little voice in the back of her mind which said that her father would see, too.
She didn't want to think about that right now; she really didn't want to think about coming out to her father ever, actually...

She did a playful glare at Sam when she stole/borrowed a few of her bobby pins. Lux laughed, Sam always said that no matter how her makeup was but Lux didn't care. Sam was just being herself. "Not yet, Sammy." She brushed her hair before placing her trademark beanie hats on her head. Her grandmother had made the hat for her when she was small but Lux couldn't remember it.
"Now I am ready." She glanced at Sam with a smile but it falterd a bit when she saw her with her hand out. "I-I'm not ready for everyone to know yet... I mean you dad doesn't even know about what you are." She didn't want people to start a new rumor about her, she also didn't want Sam to get hurt in the crossfire.
"I do love you, Sammy." She smiled then rose up a bit and kissed the redhead on the cheek before looking at the bathroom door and rolled her eyes, "I hear the stampede coming. We best hurry so we don't get trampled." She smiled at the other girl before she began walking toward the bathroom door, if they hurried they could make it out before the herd got to the door. words: 215 tags: Sam notes: -clings to site- I no want it to die!

The redhead rolled her eyes, muttering something which sounded suspiciously like "women!" under her breath. The smile couldn’t be prevented from twisting her lips, however; she loved Lux, and so the blonde’s need to have a good appearance was more cute than the annoying she found in other females’ need to look good. Sam sighed softly, as she tugged contemplatively at some of the more stubborn locks of her hair – mostly the ones that hung by the side of her face, and were just too short to stay within the sloppy bun which contained most of her hair.
Well, it contained everything that was longer than six inches, but that was neither here nor there at the moment. Her ebony gaze scrutinized a lock she brought before her vision. With a sigh that was more of a frustrated exhale, she blew the gathered strands out of her own careless hold of her first finger and thumb. It seemed that she would need to re-dye her hair when she got a chance. Of course, with her time eaten up by classes, homework, prefect duties, Quidditch, having a social life, and now dedicating time to Lux – not that she had anything against that, of course – it would be hard to find the time.
She could, honestly, have just used a spell, but she liked to do certain things the muggle way, as she had been raised to do. All of this was processed, before she extended her hand to her beloved, and then had her request, tentative as it was, shot down. She hid her pain well, shrugging and offering the blonde one of her usual half-smirk, half-smiles. "Nah, it's alright; you let me know when you're ready, 'kay? It's not that big of a deal that you aren’t." Cocking her head to the side for a moment, the tall, extremely thin girl nodded.
She could hear the sounds of stirring in their dorm, too. "Yeah, we should get going. Avoiding the stampede would be a very good thing, at this point," she acquiesced, also heading for the door. Opening it, she held it open for her blonde love to head out first, and then followed her best friend and now covert girlfriend out of the Sixth Year Girls' dorm. Though the redhead herself was a Fifth Year, she spent enough time in the Sixth Year’s dorm that she might as well have lived there herself.
There was silence between the two, until they reached the hall outside of the Slytherin Common Room, when Sam posed the question she had been thinking about since examining her hair in the bathroom some moments before. "Do you think I should re-dye my hair with a spell, or the muggle way? I may just do it the muggle way, but I'd like to hear what you think on the matter, Luxie…" Smiling impishly then, a note of mischief and teasing entered her voice then, as she continued. "Or maybe I should just take the color out and leave it, for once… Wouldn’t my father get a kick out of that!" It was a joke, of course, as was evidenced by her laughter.
She was quite sure that, should she return to her roots – the pun completely intended – that she would have her father worrying more than ever, but that wasn’t something she wanted to think on for the moment.
