Jordan stared at the page with irritated eyes. School used to make so much sense. But everthing else was clogging her brain and now the words were impossible to decipher. It was like trying to understand some secret code that she didn't have the key too. And it was annoying her all to hell. Gil still wasn't here. And that's probably what was making it so hard.
Gil had started being her tutor last year, in her 3rd year. It had been her father and Gwen's idea and when they introduced her too the Huffepuff, Jordan was on board. He was cute, in a sort of nerdy way. And Grant had ditched her (which ended up not being permanent) and Jordan had harbored a small crush on the boy until Grant camee back along. Now they were just reall good friends. And he hadn't stopped tutoring. He was in a way her rock. No matter what Gil was in the library on time each tutoring day. [/blockquote]

And today was no different. Gil was never one to be late for his tutoring sessions, especially when they were with friends. And Jordan was definitely his friend.
He left the Hufflepuff common room about half an hour before he needed to meet Jordan, smiling at the people he passed on the way up to the fourth floor.
Gil tried his best to be nice to pretty much everyone, regardless of the House they were in. He was much more likely to not like someone because of the way they treated other people than he was to not like them because of what House they were in.
But that was beside the point, at the moment. What was really on his mind was getting to the Library in time to tutor Jordan.
And in time, he was.
Looking around the Library, he saw where Jordan was immediately. With a grin, he headed over to her, putting his bag on the table as he sat down.
"And how's one of my favorite Slytherins today?" he asked, with a bit of a wink.

She gave the Hufflepuff boy a hug as he sat and shot him a big grin. "Confused. But aside from that generally alright. What about you? Bet the its girls are just all over you." Her slender elbow him nudged him lightly in the arm, with a light giggled she winked. Jordan has never quite gotten out of flirting with Gil. Though she had made it clear that their relationship was nothing more than platonic, she liked to give him the attention. He wasn't a bad looking guy. Just intelligent and sweet. And in the teenage years, those weren't really what girls were looking for. So Jordan had taken it upon herself to remind the Hufflepuff that he was quite a catch. Which he really was, it was just hard for other girls to see it. "I think its the soulful eyes beneath the glasses. That's probably what makes so you so irresistible." [/blockquote]

Gil returned his friend's hug and sat down beside her. Usually, he would have opted to sit across the table, but it was easier to point things out in her books, this way. He grinned back and told her, smirking, "And if you weren't confused, you wouldn't need me. So that's where I come in," he laughed.
At her mention of girls, though, he shook his head, flushing a little bit. "Nah. They're more likely to hone in on Rafe than me." Not that that would do them much good, either; both of the Thompson twins were rather shy when it came to girls, at the moment.
Quite frankly, Jordan was a bit more like a sister to Gil than anything else. She'd made it clear, yes, that their relationship was platonic, but the boy hadn't really wanted it to be anything other than a friendship.
He shook his head and rolled his (soulful) eyes slightly. "Oh, Jordan," was all he said. Really, though, her "reminders," as she called them, made him blush a bit, but at the same time, he did appreciate the gesture.
"So," he grinned, looking over at the books she had in front of her, "what's being confusing at the moment?" He was, after all, here to help her, as well as to simply chat.

Jordan laughed lightly at his small blush before pushing the book towards him. "Everything. None of this," she gestured wildly to the books strewn about her and her notes, "really make sense anymore. I'm just having a hard time focusing. I've read this page," she tapped the page of her Transfiguration book hard, "Like ten times. I still have no idea what it says. So I'm going with it's less the material and more this," she tapped her temple.
She didn't want to unload her problems on Gil, even if she knew they were the root of the problem. He was to sweet for that and probably had his own issues to worry about. "You wanna just do it for me? I'll trade you. You do my homework and I'll find you a girl?" she joked, resting her forehead on the table with a sigh, "It used to all make sense. I promise. I was on it last week. Remember? But now," she held up a thumbs down and blew a raspberry. [/blockquote]

Gil listened as Jordan talked, nodding a bit. Well, he was here to help her, but it seemed that she needed help with more than just her studies, at the moment.
Closing the book she pushed towards him, he faced her squarely, a serious expression on his face.
"Okay, what's up?" he asked. Clearly there was more going on here than met the eye; Jordan was an intelligent girl. Things had made sense to her not too long ago, so it wasn't an academic problem that was the root of things here.
He couldn't help but laugh a bit at her thumbs down gesture, giving her another quick hug. Gil would do his very best to talk her through whatever problem she might have, and if he couldn't help, he would try to find someone who could. That Jordan knew, of course; he wasn't about to go telling random people someone else's problems without permission; that would be unbearably rude!
