Rasalas needed some new robes but the only place she could go to was The Second Hand Robe Shop. She may own a farm but she had to use most of her money for the feed and such so she couldn't afford to buy the fanciest of robes. She picked up her money then placed it in her pocket along with her wand before apparating to Diagon Alley. She couldn't go by Flew as her home was stll thought of as a muggle's home. Though she would rather go by means of Flew then apparating.
She walked around the alley going in the shop she came for. She smiled at the owner before she wondered around the place. She didn't really know what she was looking for as she normally just bought muggle attar. She only had four robes to her name including the one she had on which was a green and silver color.
She was lost in looking at the robes so she didn't notice anyone walk in. She wondered if she should get a robe or a dress robe. Shaking her head she looked at the robes for women. She rarely bought robes as she didn't wear them much.

Ron was one of these people that was not very well off, but he had grown up to accept that, even if he had gotten bullied when he was in school about it. But who could say that they had a close family like he did. Being in training to become an Auror still showed that he could not afford the newest robes that he wanted - though Luna did often tell him that he did not need them to be respected. A slightly goofy grin appeared on his face as he thought fondly of the woman he was in love with - known once as Looney Lovegood. She was still slightly dreamy but that was what he loved about her, even if he did not believe in some of the things she did.
He had looked in one of the many robe shops and his reaction to the price of the robe he had been eyeing up was - "Bloody hell." And with that he had walked out of the shop and heaed straight for the second-hand robe shop. It was not his favourite place, but it was something he was used to and it was the way things were at the moment. Looking around as he entered the shop, he saw that it was quite empty - something he was rather happy with.
Looking around at the robes, one caught his eye and it was not for a good reason. It was the robe that was almost identical to the robes he wore to the yule ball all those years ago. Shuddering, he just shook his head. "Not bloody likely." He muttered before continuing to look around, before he walked directly into someone without think. "I am sorry." He muttered as his face started to match his hair and then he looked up and saw who it was.

Ras had been pulled from her thoughts and concentration when someone walked into her. She scowled as she saw the red hair, once she saw the face she knew at once who it was. "Great." She muttered as she crossed her arms. It was Ron Weasley, they had never gotten along in school and she didn't think they would now. She stepped back from him, "By all means, trample all over me." She glared at the man, she knew he was friends with Harry Potter but she didn't know if he knew Sirius or not.
"What are you doing here, Weasley?" It was embarrassing to run into someone that she didn't like in a shop she really didn't want to be seen in. She had hoped not to run into anyone there but as luck would have it the one she did run into was one she didn't want to see. Though she couldn't see Draco or any Slytherin in the shop she was in, that she was glad of.
She went back to looking at robes as she waited for Weasley to answer her. She never did like talking to him because it seemed to take him a while before he could think of anything to say back to her.

Ron looked to see just who he had walked into and within a moment just mood just changed as his eyes narrowed. This was just what he needed to make his day - a Slytherin. An even worse it had to be her. "With pleasure, it would mean one less Slytherin in the world, and it might prevent you from getting in my way again." His ears had gone bright red from the initial encounter before he knew just whom he had walked into. Ron had never liked her when they had been at school, for more reasons than just being a Slytherin.
"I could ask you the same thing!" He fired back at her. Ron was not the most original with comebacks, but all he could see was red when he saw someone he didn't like. "Thought you would be insulting people about what they wore, and yet here you are in a second-hand shop. The mighty have fallen." Ron grinned a little, though he was slightly curious at to why she was in the shop in the first place.
Ron went over to a rack and looked through and started to ignore, the quicker he got out of the place and away from her, the better. "Yeah, off his rocker all right." He muttered to himself as he saw yet another horrible robe. What were people thinking of!

Ras rolled her eyes at his comment, she didn't need to say anything back as it wasn't worth it. She wanted to laugh at his red ears but instead said, "You could guide the Muggle's Santa Clauses sleigh with those red ears of yours, Weasley. Who knows he might pay you for it." She never understood why she didn't like him but it was now an old habit she can not kick.
"For your information, Mr. King-Of-All-Combacks, I am here because I have to use most of my money for my animals." She didn't know why she was telling him that but what was said was said. She glared at him when he had said 'The mighty have fallen'. It wasn't her fault her brother wouldn't take the farm, she sighed as she shook her head then went back to looking at the robes.
She would rather be shopping somewhere else but here but she couldn't really afford it. She might have acted like she was rich in school but that was because she thought all Slytherins were rich. She almost wanted to tell Weasley that but he wouldn't believe her even if she did. He probably didn't believe her about the animals she had to take care of.

With the insult that came from her, his ears just seemed to grow an even brighter red. Ron inched for his wand, to hex boils onto somewhere very uncomfortable. But he was going to prove he was better than that – better than her, he was not even at school anymore. He never really understood why they hated each other so much, but they just did and that was that. It was not something he was in a hurry to change either.
People had said he had matured since the war, but when he was confronted with the likes of people like her, he reverted to the way he had been in school. “Animals! Raising the next creature to destroy all muggleborns again.” He hit back, then was a little shocked when she had gone back to looking back at the robes. Ron still did not understand what she was doing in the second hand shop. It had not bothered him being in the shop. It was how he had been raised and he was proud of his family and everything they had given. He knew that money was not everything – though it would be nice.
Ron had gone back to his own search; he needed a nice robe for a dinner he would be attending with Luna Lovegood. Things between the both of them seemed to be going well and he hoped that they would continue that way. Once more he pulled a face when he saw yet another robe he would never wear, even to his own funeral in over a 100 years’ time. It seemed so hard to find something in here these days. “What are you doing in here anyway? Trying to bully people because they are less fortunate than you are?!” Ron could not resist saying anything, it was in his nature.

"Yes, Weasley, animals." She glared at him, "These animals belonged to my grandparents! They were Muggles, and I don't think you know what kind of animals I have and I have a feeling you wouldn't understand the words either. Being the mighty Pureblood that you are... with your massive family too." She muttered the last five words through clenched teeth.
"Less fortunate? You don't know what that means, Weasley." Rasalas walked away from him before she could give herself away. She needed to ignore him but it was hard to do so when he wouldn't ignore her. She walked over to a rack that had some of the cheaper robes on them. The robe she had on was one of her good ones, the ones her parents had helped pay for.
Why was she in the shop? She had little money and didn't want to bum from her parents or brother. Though she knew her parents would help her without any thought but she didn't want them to think she couldn't handle the farm. She knew if they thought that then they would move in to help her, she couldn't let them do that. She loved them too much.

“You are getting extremely stuffy, for someone who claims that I am a mighty pureblood. If I remember correctly you and yourself called all of us blood traitors. But I would not change anything. I am happy to be a traitor and to have my family.” He quickly said back and looked away. It was as if the sight of her caused him to go blind. Ron had always hated it when people attacked his family for what they believed him and even now, he would not let anything harm them.
Ron then felt his face heat up, he knew that it was turning red. “I have been less fortunate my entire life. To live day by day with little money and to suffer from pass downs from my older brother’s; You would not know the meaning of it, if it hit you in the face.” Ron had snapped back. He always did get on the defensive about such matters, he had hated it as a child not being able to have his own clothes, but now as an adult, he had started to understand.
He had noticed that she did not answer his last question and he frowned slightly but did not press the matter because he could rise above it. Or at least he would try, he wanted to be the matter because that would be what Luna would want of him, no matter how hard that was going to be. It felt that man was miles away from who he was now.

"Only because that's what I thought I had to call you! In Slytherin it's either you're with them or against them and if you are in the same dorm room or.. or the same room all together with them then you had to go along with them!" Her hands clenched around two robes as she tried to hold herself together. She didn't need to have a break down right then.
Her eyes narrowed and she spoke softly like her old head of house. "You had a home from the moment you were born, you had your father and mother and even brothers. My father died from trying to stop Voldemort. My mother left me on the street after that. I was one year old, I had hand-me-downs after I was took to a Muggle orphanage, for almost three years I lived in that hell. Don't try to tell me I wouldn't know it. I am not the rich girl pretended to be in school."
After she finished talking she let go of the robes she had been holding, one hand went to her ring. That ring was her only link to her father, besides Sirius of course, after taking a few deep breaths she turned and looked at the red head. "I hate you because you have the life I never had the chance to have. I love the family I have but my own mother didn't want me after my father died getting Slytherin's stupid locket." She hadn't really told anyone everything she had told him, mainly because she had hoped those memories would fade away.

His own eyes had narrowed as she had finally begun to speak. It was something he had not been expecting considering that, but he still does not trust her. She was a Slytherin after all and they lied and that was all he had thought. Ron had better things to do than argue with an enemy, he had a date to prepare for and he needed a robe that wasn’t the one his mother was offering for him to borrow. It was a bright orange one, he would burn it, if he was sure it would offend his sweet mother.
Then it was her tone that reminded him so much of Snape, that had caused Ron to turn around and his ears to once more turn a bright red. He was slightly taken back that this Slytherin was talking like this, but once more he did not know if he should believe her or not and his mind was going towards the not since because of his experience with her house. “And yet I find myself unable to believe such a thing, since Slytherin’s are known for their lies.” He spoke before letting her speak once more. He did find himself listening though and not tuning her out like he normally would.
“Look right, if what you saying is true, then I am sorry you had such a tough childhood. But man stop taking out on the people that had no influence on it. It’s not my fault I had a family and you didn’t.” And once more Ron had spoken without thinking and no doubt had put his foot in his mouth again. He had done that so often at school with Harry and Hermione they had been used to it.

Ras shook her head, "You don't get it, do you? You are lucky, and if you don't believe me about who I am then ask Sirius. He is my uncle after all." She picked out two ratty robes to buy. "I do have a family, Weasley, just not the one I was born to." She held her ring so tight she was sure it would leave a mark. She didn't know much about her dad as there wasn't anyone to tell her about him.
"You have parents that want you, I think my dad was the only one that wanted me cause I wouldn't be here if my mother had wanted me or even loved me." She paused for a moment before saying, "In Slytherin you have to act like one of them, because the moment your back is turned you never know what they will do if you are in that house but not really one of them."
She looked down as she debated whether or not she should say what she was about to. After a few moments she spoke once more, "I told you the truth about me not for you to feel sorry for me but for you to give me the chance to show you I am not the girl I was in school." She didn't look at him as she was afraid he would laugh at her.

He looked a little shocked when Rasalas spoke of Sirius and that he was her uncle. This was the first he had heard of it. "As in Sirius Black? The Sirius Black?" He was sure that he had heard it wrong, there was only one Sirius Black he knew of. "There is no way, Sirius is the last of the Black line directly, why make up such a thing is petty." Ron said putting his foot in his month once more. He always did such a thing.
Then he saw a black - well grey in colour robe and he looked it over. It seemed that it was in good condition and it would do for his date with Luna, though he did wish that he could buy something that was new and he could impress her. Maybe one day he could do such a thing. "Can't help which family you are born into." He muttered, he still did listen to her, though he was not entirely sure why. "Once a Slytherin always a Slytherin, never trust one is all I can say never know when one can bite you." It was true, the house rivalries were still obvious even after they had graduated.
It was what she spoke last that made him actually look at her and observe her closely. Ron could not place a finger on it, but he was starting to believe what she was saying and he didn't know why. "I don't pity you Rasalas, I never have, but you understand why I react the way I do. After all behaviour and thoughts don't change over night. Bloody hell we hate each other."

"Yes, the Sirius Black. He never knew about me, I didn't know who my family was until he looked at my ring." The ring that she was clutching so hard that she was sure her knuckles were white. "This ring is proof of who I am, I was born a Black but never got the chance to know my parents." She didn't know why she was bothering, the red head was being stubborn.
"Is that the same thing as-" Ras closed her mouth so she wouldn't go back to insulting him. She did glare at him and say, "You might as well act like a true Pureblood, if you are going to hate Slytherins for their house then you might as well hate Muggle-borns and everything else." She didn't say it as an insult but as a fact, if one was going to hate one thing then one might as well hate everything.
"So three years is over night? Then that must mean the battle happened yesterday." Her tone was sarcastic as she thought he was an idiot. "I don't really hate you I hate that you had the life I never got to have." Ras shook her head then put the robes back, she looked back at Ron. "I was stupid for thinking you would actually listen to me, if I were Draco I would not have went to the Order because of you and your bias nature."

“I will have you know that one of my best friends is a muggle-born and could never hate her considering I may very well not be alive today if it were not for her.” He spoke back quickly, though he would never tell Hermione because… well he just wouldn’t. Ron did often speak before he thought about what he was saying, he really was not as bright as he would make out he was, he really didn’t have all that much common sense either, if any at all. He could not help but listen to what she was talking about and he felt his ears burning because of embarrassment as well as anger.
Ron was still struggling on what to say in response, his mouth was opening and closing but no words were coming out. He had been stumped and had no idea one what to say on the vision that he was being biased. Maybe time would eventually make him see that times were changing, but it was hard to accept that he was no longer trying to be killed at every moment just because of whose friend he was.
He took a deep breath and this was really going to hurt him. “I am…” He trailed off for a moment as he took another deep breath. “I am… sorry for being a royal git, you are not as bad… as normal.” Ron felt like he had been kicked in the gut, that had taken quite a bit for him to take, though she could very well just throw it back in his face – oh how he wished Luna was here, she would know what to say to defuse the situation.
