Rasalas Jones had decided she wanted to visit her uncle Sirius Black. It had probably been about a week since she found out he was her uncle. She hoped he would he home, after walking outside she disparated from her home only to aparate close to the Black Cottage. She took a deep breath then walked toward the cottage. She could feel her heart beating and could hear it in her ears. She stopped for a few moments to calm herself.
She knew no one but herself could hear her heart beating but to her anyone close enough could hear it. After taking a deep breath once again she began walking once more. There is nothing to worry about. That was what she was telling herself but her mind was saying, "You're a Slytherin and Harry Potter is a Gryffindor, of course there is something to worry about!"
She shook her head and found herself in front of the cottage and for a moment forgot where she was. She smiled at herself before knocking on the door. She stood calmly but in her mind she was pacing trying to think of what she could say if Harry answered the door. Having nothing come up she almost thought of just leaving.

Harry Potter had gone from depressed to absolutely on cloud nine, and it was all because of one person. One girl that had shown up one night and changed his life for the better; granted they had gotten into an argument the morning after; but they managed to work things out. They always did. It was one of the things that made them…well, them; it made their relationship so strong, that they could always work things out. Together. Besides, he loved her too much to keep arguing with her; he knew he would’ve just said yes because she fought so hard for it. Perhaps that was part of the reason he argued, to see how much she wanted it. He still couldn’t figure out the other parts though; the other reasons as to why he would argue with the smartest witch of the her generation.
His thoughts, however were interrupted by a knocking on the door. ‘Who could that be? Maybe someone for Sirius or Hermione.’ Of course, Hermione had gone with the twins to her parents, and Sirius was out doing who knows what. Harry knew it couldn’t be for him though; he hadn’t been expecting anyone, but then again, it could always be Neville, or Ron, or Ginny or Luna or another close friend coming to stop by. They had done that a few times when he was down in depression, but they could never really cheer him up, though they had managed a few times if only for a little while. Now, he didn’t think they knew Hermione was back, but it would be a great change in him for them. Still, he didn’t want to take any chances with anything, and grabbed his wand as he left to go answer the door.
As he neared the door, Harry lowered his wand. Sure, he should’ve been more cautious, but he didn’t feel like anything was wrong. He didn’t get that feeling, you know, the feeling he always got before something bad happened. So, when he opened the door, his wand was still in his hand, but it wasn’t pointed towards the person standing there at the door. Harry didn’t recognize her, so he figured it was either for Hermione or Sirius. Granted, barely anyone knew Hermione was back, so it was probably for Sirius. “Umm…are you--er…here to see…Sirius?”

Ras was about to just leave when the door opened, she almost whimpered when she saw who opened it. Harry Potter stood right in front of her, she didn't know what to say so she merely nodded her head. After taking a deep breath she spoke, "Yes, I am here to see him. I-I don't know if he told you about me or not but he's my uncle." She looked at his wand warily, she knew it wasn't pointed at her but she also knew it could be pointed at her in a split second.
She really hoped Sirius had told Harry because she doubted he would believe her by just her words alone. Heck she wouldn't believe herself on her own words alone. If she had told herself before meeting Sirius that she was related to him then she would ask where the proof was. Oh she really hoped he wouldn't ask for proof, the only proof she had was the ring that once belonged to her father.
She was lost in her own troubled thoughts that she didn't realize that her brows her furrowed in thought. But after a sigh she came out of her thoughts and looked at Harry. " know it sounds crazy but it's the truth, Merlin knows I have been looking for my biological father for a while."

Harry stood at the doorway, eyes narrowing at the female in front of him; Sirius’ niece? He tried thinking of a time Sirius told him about her, or a niece of his, eyebrows furrowing together, but he couldn’t come up with one. Was this some joke? Harry still didn’t feel anything amiss, and he regretfully stunk at Legilimency, more so than he had at Occlumency. Still, after concentrating on the thought hard enough, Harry stepped aside, “Would you want to wait for him then…?”. He would’ve known if something was wrong, that feeling would’ve come up. Besides, it didn’t seem as though the witch had her wand with her.
“I don’t mean to sound…rude, or strange…or paranoid or anything like that, but I’ll have to take your wand if you have it on you. I hope you’ll understand, I mean…I don’t think you’re lying, but after the war and all…” He just trailed off, hoping the witch would understand his reasoning. He wasn’t going to take chances; especially not when Hermione could return at any time with the twins. Sirius, Harry knew, could hold his own very well; but Hermione with two twins to keep safe? He wouldn’t risk it. Never. Not with them.
A sudden thought entered his mind, and the boy-who-lived almost face palmed himself. Surely every female he knew would reprimand him for his lack of manners, he inwardly shuttered at Molly Weasley’s reprimanding should she ever find out. “Oh…you may already know my name, Harry Potter…” he started off lamely. What else was he supposed to say? “May I ask yours?” Sure, not the best way to go about asking for her name, but it was still a way, and that’s all that really counted for Harry. As long as he got what he needed, that was how it happened in the Hogwarts years as well, when he was miraculously surviving throughout all the ordeals with Ron and Hermione. Then a question popped up into his mind, he must’ve forgotten about it as soon as he heard about her being Sirius’ niece.
“So, whose your father then?” Of course he knew there was only one person, but if she knew then he’d give her the benefit of the doubt…she just wouldn’t have her wand with her, that’s all. After all, as Mad-eye Moody taught him, CONSTANT VIGILANCE!

Rasalas nodded with a smile before stepping inside the cottage, she looked around and she had to admit the place looked better then her farmhouse. Though that place was her grandparents and she didn't have the heart to change anything about it. Though she would like to have children of her own at sometime she just couldn't change anything like getting rid of her grandmother's nick-knacks or the like.
“Oh, no, I completely understand.” She stuck her hand in her pocket then handed it to Harry. She wondered why he didn't remember her. Though it was true they hadn't seen one another for a while. She didn't know why it kind of hurt that he didn't remember her. She stopped at a photo of Sirius and someone that looked like Harry but the photo also had Remus Lupin and another fellow. “Sorry to ask but who are these two men?”
“I could never forget your name, Mr. Potter, it was the talk of the school and the pain of Draco.” She rolled her eyes, “he really wouldn't stop complaining about you.” She got tempted to silence him a lot in the common room but of course she didn't in fear that he would do something worse. Though really the worst thing he could have done at the time was tell Snape. “My name is Rasalas Jones.”
“Regulus Black is my biological father.” She told him as she fingered her ring, it had became a habit when she had learned that it has once belonged to her father. “I wish I could remember him, or at least know what he looked like.” She looked down as she wondered if Sirius was going to return soon, she smiled a little as she remembered he had told her she reminded him of her father.

Harry gave the girl an apologetic smile; he knew he’d hate to have his wand taken from him in someone else’s home. Then again, it wasn’t just a home to anyone; it was THE Sirius Black’s home, THE Harry Potter’s home, and now it was war heroine, Hermione Granger’s home as well. There was also the fact that the twins would be living there from now on as well; so, in short, the house would be a main target for any remaining uncaught Death Eaters. And Harry just wouldn’t take the chance. He was glad she didn’t put up a fight for it; it only proved to him that she did really know Sirius, though he couldn’t be for certain if this was his niece or not. What did that make them then? God-cousins? Well, probably if she was telling the truth.
Harry shut the door, pocketed her wand and looked fondly at the picture. It was Sirius’, but they kept it out for all to see; Harry didn’t mind. He personally loved the photo, it reminded him that there would still be innocence in the world; when you’re with friends and family, you don’t have a care in the world. He learned to get over Pettigrew, after all, he started out innocent as well; Harry personally thought the rat was a coward, thus the reason he joined Voldemort. “Well, that’s Sirius Black, as you probably already know,” he pointed to the younger version of his Godfather, he then moved to the young, happier werewolf Remus Lupin, “That one’s Remus. Remus Lupin…” his eyes blurred, but only for a second. His voice cracked slightly as well; Remus’ loss was very tough on everyone; Tonks and Teddy, Sirius, Hermione, the Weasley’s, the Order, and himself.
As his gaze moved to the look-a-like in the picture, Harry smiled sadly. “That’s my dad, James Potter.” his smile was bittersweet; and his eyes once again blurred, as they always had whenever he was looking at his parents. “And that one, well, that’s Peter Pettigrew.” his voice hardened slightly; even though picture Peter had done nothing, future Peter had. And Harry never would be able to forgive him. Never.
Once she mentioned Malfoy, Harry’s memory seemed to click in place; she was a Slytherin. In his year. But what was her name? Once he heard it, he was able to match the name with a younger looking Rasalas, in a Slytherin uniform. His mouth formed an ‘o’ as he could think of nothing to say as he processed what he remembered. He felt bad, about forgetting a schoolmate; but with the war, Hermione’s disappearance, Auror training, and Hermione’s return, he figured he’d give himself some slack. He grinned sheepishly, almost apologetically, “Ah, yes, Rasalas. I remember you now; sorry…I guess my mind was preoccupied with the war and all…”
Once he heard her father, Harry just stood there shocked; Regulus Black? R.A.B.? Her biological father? No way, he couldn’t believe it; but he had no reason to not believe Rasalas; after all, she hadn’t done anything to him. Not really. Then again she was a Slytherin, so he couldn’t be so sure. “I didn’t know Regulus had a child…” was all he could manage to say through the shock.

"So that's your dad..." She trailed off smiling, Harry looked a lot like his father. Her eyes moved to the one he said was Peter Pettigrew, she hadn't heard of him. Rasalas looked at Harry, "It's fine." She wondered if he had also forgot how she had treated Ron Weasley. She bit her lower lip hoping he had, though she doubted that Weasley had forgot.
She smiled at Harry, "Neither did Sirius, that was, until he saw this." She held up the ring, she had an almost sad smile on her face as she did. "He had asked me so many questions about how I came by it. Told him it was one of my parents' ring, the only thing I have of one of them." She smiled before she went on, "he told me that it had belonged to his brother."
"I had been looking for my biological father for a while now, only to find out he died." She looked down almost wishing Sirius was her father. "I understand if you don't believe me, Harry." She almost didn't believe it herself. She remembered when the hat had told her that she was a pureblood before sorting her into Slytherin. She had wanted to know who her family really was after that.

Harry nodded, a smile on his face as he continued gazing at the picture. James Potter. Whenever Harry looked at the picture, sometimes he forgot it was his father. They really did look alike, as everyone had pointed out to him as he grew older. Both had the same wind-swept messy black hair, the same average build, the same seeker reflexes. They even had the same glasses! The only thing that was different about the two would be that Harry had his mother’s eyes, Lily Potter’s. Beautiful green eyes. Well, according to some writers for Witch Weekly, Hermione, and a few others, mainly witches. Otherwise, that would’ve been somewhat awkward for Harry. Unless it was Remus or Sirius. When they said it, it just reminded him of how alike he was to his parents. He saw the memories about them show in their eyes. It was as if he had something of his parents from the two marauders.
Glancing back towards Rasalas, Harry smiled apologetically. “Well, how about we catch up with each other then. The war is over, it’s been over, but the wizarding world is still working on unification. How about we have a new start then. No Slytherin or Gryffindor. Just two strangers meeting for the first time. What do you say? A new start.” He didn’t just say this because he felt bad, though he did. He really did want to turn over a new leaf. He didn’t want that same Slytherin/Gryffindor rivalry that separated Hogwarts students. They were adults now, and he wanted some unification, seeing as not many have been able to. A friendship with a past ‘enemy’, per say, would be the best way. It was the time of a new era. One where rivalries only went in competitions, and friendly rivalries. Nothing more. Nothing less. Besides, Harry was almost positive Hermione would’ve had a right fit if she found out about his ‘not turning over a new leaf’ with a former…enemy. He was pretty sure that even if she didn’t want to, Hermione would try for some unity; she was always fighting for equality, whether it be for creatures or muggleborns.
Harry nodded and hid his shock as he glanced at the right. It was a black family ring, that he was sure of. There was no other way that Rasalas would have gotten the ring other than stealing it. And, considering her age, and the fact that Sirius never had it, Harry was pretty sure she was telling the truth. In fact, as he looked at her as she spoke about her father, he was sure that she was genuine about it. There was that look in her eyes, one he’s seen many times in the mirror. Sadness, loneliness…parentless. Harry knew that she would never have been able to pull it off if it were fake; the feeling of it was just too…real, to fake it. So, in the end, it was the look in her eyes, as she spoke about Regulus, that made Harry believe her. He still couldn’t take any chances though, Slytherin or not, Regulus was once a death eater. Though he switched sides later on, his cousin Bellatrix didn’t. And he wouldn’t risk it if Rasalas was as crazy as her aunt. “So, do you know you have some crazies in your family? I mean, every family does I guess, but yours. Man, something was really wrong with them.” he grinned a bit, just to let Rasalas know he didn’t mean anything by it.
Well, not really, since it was the truth.

Rasalas nodded, “Alright, a new start then.” She smiled, glad that Harry hadn't thrown her out of the house and called her a lair and such. “It's a shame though that Sirius doesn't know more about my dad.” She said quietly as she tore her eyes from the photo. “I've heard you've become an Auror.” She mentioned as she looked around the room, hoping to see more photos. Her place was filled with photos of her family, one day she hoped to raise children with a husband. She looked at Harry with a smile, she was nervous before but she felt almost at home... almost.
As she walkedx around the room she spotted another photo, one of Harry with his friends. She paused as she smiled at it, he had been lucky to have found friends, she hadn't had many friends herself. She turned and looked at Harry in a confused manner. “Sirius hadn't talked much about the family, just answered the questions he could that I had.” She didn't know much about her family, though she would like to. “Though he did tell me I was related to the Malfoy's and the Weasley's.” She had forced herself not to scowl at the mention of Weasley's family.
(ooc: sorry it took so long and Bellatrix is her cousin not aunt XD)
